These terms govern your use of the Dargah Janeta Sharif mobile application and its administration system. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. About the app
The app is provided by Dargah Janeta Sharif for the benefit of its murids, talibs and visitors. It offers prayer times, the Qibla direction, the Holy Qur'an with translations and recitation, Tajweed and Makharij learning material, tasbih and durood counters, a community Khatm board, the Shijra, Dargah announcements, events and videos.
The app is provided free of charge. There are no purchases within the app and no advertising.
2. Religious content — please read
The Dargah takes great care over the religious material in the app. Even so:
- Prayer times are calculated by astronomical formula from your location and the selected convention. They are a guide. Where they differ from the times announced by your local masjid, follow your local masjid.
- The Qibla compass depends on your device's magnetic sensor, which can be affected by nearby metal or electronics. Verify by other means where accuracy matters.
- The Makharij (articulation points) screen is a teaching aid. Its diagram is a simplified illustration and is not anatomically exact, as stated within the app itself.
- Qur'an text, translations and Tajweed colour-coding are reproduced from established sources. Should you notice any error, please report it to us at once so it can be corrected and reviewed by scholars.
- The app is not a substitute for guidance from qualified scholars. For rulings on matters of religion, consult a scholar.
3. Registering with the Dargah
Some features ask you to register and complete a profile. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date. Your registration is personal to you and should not be shared. The Dargah may decline or withdraw registration where information is found to be false or the app is misused.
How we handle the information you give us is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in a manner disrespectful to the Dargah, its community, or the sanctity of the religious material it contains;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, the administration system, or any account that is not yours;
- interfere with the app's operation, or attempt to disrupt or overload our servers;
- copy, redistribute or commercially exploit content from the app without the Dargah's written permission;
- submit false information, or impersonate another person.
5. Administration system
The administration system is restricted to individuals authorised by the Dargah. If you have been given access, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity carried out under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Donations
Where the app displays details for making an offering or donation to the Dargah, those payments are made directly to the Dargah through the payment method shown. They are not processed by the app and are not purchases through any app store. Donations are voluntary and, unless the Dargah states otherwise in writing, are non-refundable. Please verify payment details before sending money, and contact the Dargah directly if anything appears inconsistent.
7. Content and ownership
The app, its design, and the Dargah's own material — including the Shijra, announcements, events, photographs and videos — belong to the Dargah or its licensors. Qur'anic text, translations, fonts and recitations remain the property of their respective owners and are used in accordance with their licences. You may use the app's content for your personal religious practice and study.
8. Third-party content
The app plays videos through YouTube and streams recitation audio from third-party Islamic audio services. Those services are governed by their own terms, and the Dargah is not responsible for their availability or content.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but it is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be complete or current. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn as the Dargah sees fit.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Dargah Janeta Sharif and those operating the app on its behalf shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app — including reliance on calculated prayer times or the Qibla direction. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and continued use of the app after a revision means you accept it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
